King Juan Carlos of Spain underwent lung surgery

HM King Juan Carlos of Spain was admitted to the hospital this morning, May 8, 2010, to undergo a scheduled lung surgery.


The King has undergone the surgery for removal and study of a lung nodule at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona.

The surgery took 3 hours, the King has been awake and is breathing on his own.

Update: the nodule is benign.
