Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands opened LOFAR in Drenthe

HM Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands opened LOFAR in Drenthe on June 12, 2010.

Bijschrift: Hare Majesteit Koningin Beatrix opent op 12 juni met een druk op de knop de grootste radiotelescoop LOFAR in Drenthe tijdens een multimediale presentatie. Met deze druk op de knop startte zij waarnemingen met de LOFAR telescoop. Zij werd daarbij omringd door een groep schoolkinderen. De waarneming leverde na enkele seconden op een groot scherm de eerste officiële resultaten op met deze super-radiotelescoop. Copyright foto: Hans Hordijk. Bij deze foto hoort een APS persbericht.
