Restaurateur appointed for the wedding banquet of Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Christopher O'Neill

The Swedish Royal Court has appointed Stefano Catenacci as restaurateur for the banquet at the wedding of HRH Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Christopher O'Neill on 8 June 2013.

Stefano Catenacci and the restaurant Operakällaren will be responsible for the wedding banquet at Drottningholm Palace. Since 1961, Operakällaren has been responsible for the food at official dinners, gala banquets and other dinners hosted by The King.

Operakällaren was given its name in 1787, when the restaurant was located in the cellar beneath King Gustav III's opera house. Tore Wretman took over as manager of Operakällaren in the 1950s. Alessandro Catenacci took over Tore Wretman's restaurants in December 1987.

On 30 March 2012, Stefano Catenacci was appointed Court Restaurateur. Previously, Tore Wretman and Werner Vögeli held the title.
